Pat McFadden, B.B.A., FCIP, CFE

Pat McFadden is the owner of Quelmec Loss Adjusters. He is a business graduate of the University of Ottawa. Pat started his career with Allstate Insurance in 1979. In 1983, he was elected a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada. In the fall of 1996 Pat was awarded the designation, “Certified Fraud Examiner” by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in Austin, Texas, whose recipients are trained in the specialized techniques necessary to detect, investigate and deter fraud. Pat is a past president of the Ottawa Valley Adjusters Association, the Society of Fellows and past chair of the Insurance Institute of Ontario, Ottawa Chapter. He is a past president of the Insurance Institute of Ontario, a 16,000 member organization dedicated to the continuing professional development of casualty insurance practitioners.

Pat is fluently bilingual and is licensed in both Ontario and Quebec. He investigates all types of losses, with particular expertise in third party program administration, professional liability, director and officer’s liability, etc.

   
 

Carolyn Perks, CIP, CFEI, CRM

Carolyn has been working in the insurance field for more than two decades. Her career started in sales and service then switched to claims because it offered greater challenges. Over the next 15 years she progressed from claims clerk to a supervisor of telephone claims office finally becoming an Independent Adjuster when she joined Quelmec Loss Adjusters in 1996. Licensed in all lines, she has specialized in Professional and Municipal Liability but is fully qualified and handles all types of claims investigations.

Carolyn earned her designation as an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Canada in 1993 and later became a Chartered Insurance Professional. As part of a commitment to continuing education, she became a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator in 2003 and in 2004 successfully earned her Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation through Carleton University.

   
 

William Hopkins CIP

William started his insurance career with Royal Insurance, after graduating from Grant McEwan College, Edmonton AB. He has worked as an independent adjuster with Quelmec since 1990, and is licensed in all lines. He specializes in property, liability and casualty lines.

William has also been on catastrophic assignments to Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman and Florida. He has setup and coordinated claims programs for large property developers and utility companies.

William enjoys spending time with his family, and coaches his children’s sporting activities.

   
  Marg Crawford, FCIP, CFEI

Margaret started her insurance career in 1971 and worked for 19 years with Co-Operators Insurance handling senior level claims in all lines. Marg joined Quelmec in 1990 and has continued to handle all lines of senior level claims. She has developed an expertise in the handling of Accident Benefits and Condominium claims.

Marg is a past Chairperson of the Insurance Institute, Ottawa Chapter and is currently serving as a board member for the Chapter. She has also served on the executive of the National Society of Fellows and is an instructor for the Insurance Institute of Canada. Ms. Crawford had followed courses and seminars on several topics and has received the Insurance Institute Continuing Professional Development Certificate on a yearly basis. Marg Crawford is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Professional and also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator.

Jenny's broad experience with insurance claims began some 30 years ago in Singapore when she was head of bank negotiation and export documentation in the New Zealand Dairy Board Asian Regional office. She was sent to New Zealand Dairy Board Head office in Auckland to formulate an Export Documentation procedure. After immigrating to Canada, she started her insurance career with Royal Insurance. She handled automobile and property claims. As Claims Adjusters she was seconded from the Ottawa office to the Calgary office to process and handle insurance claims arising from widespread hailstorm damage in Alberta. She successfully completed several courses of the Insurance Institute of Canada. After the Royal & Sunalliance office in Ottawa closed, she was commissioned to work in its Mississauga office. She joined Quelmec in 2006 handling Hydro One Property Damage Claims.

Jenny brings a wealth of hands-on experience in automobile and property insurance claims settlements and first-hand knowledge of claims procedures, investigations and settlements.
